Artist's Comments

My original steampunk goggles, (originally posted on my old dA account, kidsupernova) only re-fitted with new "lenses" and brass elements.

Made from old camera lenses, pocket watch parts, wrist watch bezels, some clock gears, and the brasswork came from an old light fixture. Padding on the inside of the goggles comes from old leather wristwatch bands and the head strap is from an old camera case.

ugly mug provided by yours truly.

Also, THEY'RE NOT FOR SALE. So stop asking, please?

You have no idea how sex those things are. I feel privileged to have even touched them, let alone worn them.

Wearing them makes me feel sick.

They're much better now that there's new lenses in them. The one side still magnifies, but the other side is totally clear and easy to see through. Guess you'd just have to wear an eyepatch on the one side or something. That'd be cool.
:iconrobpowell:
If I could mass produce them I would sell them! However, I only had so many lenses and things laying around to make them... I don't know if I could make even one more pair. :[

Nah. Just a little mad. ^__^

O.o You made these? I applaud you sir. It's not often where you find edited found objects at this top notch quality. Seriously- you could totally sell the idea to a movie company- though I'm not sure if you'd want to.
As a fellow metalworker, I, again, applaud you.
I know that the gears are probably found objects, but how about the rococo stylized edges on the frame? Did you do those yourself?
Either way- this is really amazing work. Hot damn.
